Peripheral Arterial Disease Detection, Awareness, and Treatment in Primary Care
The PAD Awareness, Risk, and Treatment: New Resources for Survival (PARTNERS) program has released the results of its study in the Journal of the American Medical Association. The conclusion of the study revealed that peripheral arterial disease is a very prevalent condition which is putting 8-12 million Americans at risk for myocardial infarction, stroke, or death. Furthermore, the study raises concerns that patients do not receive proper diagnoses of their condition in time to prevent a more serious event.
